Church discipline is a term that is fraught with problems for the church today. However from the Biblical witness it is clear that it is an essential component of a healthy, God-honouring church - a church where Christians grow and mature in grace and develop solid foundations with which they can, with the help of the Spirit, withstand the storms of life.
With many years of pastoral experience, Robert K. Cheong has faced this issue many times. Additionally he interviewed over 30 pastors from different countries and a wide variety of church settings.

Robert K. Cheong is the Pastor of Care at Sojourn Church Midtown, Louisville, KY. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy and earned a M.Div. and Ph.D. from The Southern Baptist Theology Seminary. He has a passion for equipping ministry leaders and members for discipleship and care through community. He also serves as a Harbor Network Strategist in the area of care. He is author of Restore: Changing How You Live + Love and God Redeeming His Bride: A Handbook for Church Discipline. He enjoys life with Karen, his wife of 37 years, along with their three grown children, two sons-in-law, and three adorable grandchildren.
