Product Testing & Proven Performance
This intake system has been tested and validated on the PREracing shop truck to confirm real-world performance on the 2.4L turbo Tacoma platform, not just the theoretical gains advertised by the manufacturer, but real results we’ve verified.
Baseline testing on our chassis dyno of a 2025 Tacoma Automatic showed 259 WHP and 271 WTQ in completely stock form. With the addition of the K&N Cold Air Intake System 63-9043 and a custom ECU calibration, output increased to 311 WHP and 331 WTQ.
Tuning Recommendation
For optimal horsepower and torque gains, a custom ECU calibration is strongly recommended and available as an option in the dropdown menu below. This calibration requires a COBB Accessport V3, which is sold separately.
Like most aftermarket intake systems, advertised gains are usually nominal rather than peak figures. The improvements are real, but without proper tuning, they rarely reflect what the engine is actually capable of.
To make the most power with any intake, it needs to be paired with ECU calibration. That’s where the engine responds, and where the performance difference becomes obvious.
Product Overview
The K&N Cold Air Intake System 63-9043 uses a roto-molded high-density polyethylene intake tube and enclosed airbox to improve airflow while helping reduce intake temperatures. It includes K&N’s reusable oiled cotton High-Flow air filter with service intervals of up to 100,000 miles under normal driving conditions.
Installation is straightforward, and the system delivers improved throttle response, more noticeable induction sound, and measurable performance gains while maintaining proper filtration and engine protection.
