Lovely first American edition of this classic Scottish Baptist work by one of the premier Baptist theologians of the time. Includes the original label on the pastedown from the American Baptist Society. Also includes a biography of Carson and his conversion from Scottish Presbyterianism to joining the Baptists. As the story goes, he was actually tasked with studying Baptism to argue against the growing young Baptist movement in Scotland. Instead, he was immersed and joined them.
