Description:
[Kemp Masterpieces 1000] Wilhelm Kemp (1895-1991) was a German pianist who excelled at classical and romantic repertoire such as Beethoven, Brahms, and Bach. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of his death, an encore pressing of the "Kemp Masterpieces 1000" series. When you listen to Kemp's Schubert, you can feel his boundless spirit of song. The melody is always the first priority in his singing, and his piano creates a world of richly poetic resonance. As a young man, Kemp not only performed solo piano works, but also actively accompanied songs. In his later recollections, Kemp described this experience as invaluable. This can be seen in the series of Schubert recordings. Kemp has captured the inexhaustible wellspring of Schubert's music from every aspect, and has given us its mellow fragrance. Recorded in Hanover, March 1965
